The Ray Charles Tribute Orchestra is an 9 to 14 -piece ensemble that performs the music of Ray Charles.

The Orchestra features Grammy Award Winner Donald Ray Johnson Or Mr. Thomas Alexander ( The Voice ) on lead vocals and former Ray Charles Bassist John Gray.



Donald Ray Johnson
Donald Ray Johnson has spent a lifetime dedicated to music.  After some 40 years, this Texas born bluesman is still going strong.  A Grammy Award winner with the group ‘A Taste of Honey’ (first African-American group to win a Grammy for Best New Artist category) and twice Maple Blues Award nominee.  He was voted Best Male Blues Vocalist in 2007 by Real Blues Magazine.  Donald has toured with Blues and R&B artists Phillip Walker, Big Mama Thornton, Smokey Wilson, Teddy Pendergrass & The Isley Brothers.  Visit his webpage at

John Gray has been a fan of the music of Ray Charles throughout his entire music career. He has played with some of the world’s greatest musicians including Nat Adderley, Chet Baker, Tommy Banks, Lenny Breau, Ray Charles, Petula Clark, Eddie Daniels, Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, Jack DeJohnette, Herb Ellis, Sonny Fortune, Dexter Gordon, The Ink Spots, Steve Lacy, K.D. Lang, Frank Mantooth, The Marvelettes, Butch Miles, Dr. Clarence ‘Big’ Miller, P.J.
